Becoming a member

There are no pre-qualifications for joining the CoG. It doesn’t matter where you live or how much money you make.

To start, you simply pay a one-time, nonrefundable $25 membership fee and an investment of $100, which is returned to you if you leave the CoG. You may pay your investment in full or in 10 monthly installments of $10. A reduced fee and investment are available for those on public assistance. Please email us for more details.

The one-time $25 membership fee goes directly to cover operating costs. We count it as income, just like the markup on our items. Your $100 investment, however, goes into a capital fund where it will earn interest and help us build credit, qualify for grants, and plan future expansion.

Your only commitment is to work 2 1/2 hours every 4 weeks. In exchange, you are free to shop at the CoG as much as you want.
