We promise that joining the CoG and working with your fellow members will be a fun, enriching, and community-building experience. This is your store; your participation, input, and enthusiasm are vital to its success.

Before you join, please be sure you understand and agree with the following statements:

• Members pay a one-time, non-refundable fee of $25 and an investment of $100, which is refunded if you leave the CoG. Note: As of January 4, 2010, the Core Team has decided that the financial status of the Cooperative is such that refunds of membership investments are on hold. Our bylaws state that if we do not have sufficient funds to pay all our debts, then member investments shall be delayed until such time as all debts can be paid (Section 2.06).
• A given household has to have one membership at least.  A membership per adult is strongly encouraged.
• Your investment is used for working capital, future expansion, and to help us qualify for matching grants.
• Members work 2 1/2 hours every 4 weeks. Jobs are available in stocking, order assembly, child care and more.

Two Ways To Join

You can choose to pay the entire $125 at once, or do a trial 3-month membership where you pay the $25 join fee now and the $100 share in three months.

To pay your complete membership now:

1. Register for an account in the online store, by completing the Billing Information section on the log in page.
2. Confirm your account by checking your email for the confirmation email.
3. Click on the “Membership, etc.” link in the Categories, section of the store.
4. Click the link to place the Membership in your shopping cart.
5. If you’d like, you can place your first order at the same time you join!
6. Complete the purchase using the Google Checkout link.
7. If you want, then click on the “Shift” link at the top of thecog.org and find yourself a shift!
8. You will be contacted with orientation information and a warm welcome!

To pay $25 now and $100 after three months

Under this option, you do not purchase your $100 share until you have tried the CoG on for three months and decided it is for you.  Follow the steps above, but add the Trial Membership to your cart instead of the full membership.  You still have to work your shift–that is part of trying the CoG on for size.
